- Happy New Year, Everyone! The Hickman County Arts and Crafts Guild hopes you have had a great start for the year!
- Our Membership Drive will begin later this month … so be sure to watch for an email or snail mail regarding the application. Just a reminder – if there are 2 or more joining, please include everyone’s name and craft on the application. If the person does not have a specific craft, but would like to be a member, simply put ‘Supporter’ next to their name. We need all of the Supporters we can get! 🙂 There is not an age limit regarding who can join.
- The 3rd Annual Keg County Arts and Crafts Fair will be Saturday, May 9, 2020, on the Centerville Courthouse Square. Vendor Information and Application are ready for you to fill out and mail in! Click here to download one.
- The Hickman Middle School After-School Art Club is moving right along. This month they will begin a 2 session project decorating a keepsake box complete with a faux stained glass lid. During the first session, lead by Myra Orton, the students learned how to tape the edges that were not to be painted, sand the sides to be painted and paint their box with milk paint. Next, they taped a design of their choice to the inside of the top and applied a faux liquid leading on the glass top of the box to outline the design. Mrs. Orton is also assisting the students in wood-burning their initials and the date on the bottom of the box. Those assisting from the Guild are Mary Jo Leaver, Nick Leaver and Janet Pierce.
- Our first meeting for 2020 will be Monday, February 17, 2020, at 6 pm. We will meet at the Centerville United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall. If you are facing the church, please enter by the lower level door on your left. Once inside, turn immediately to the right and follow the hallway to the fellowship hall. For directions, call 931.242.0428. All are welcome!
