• Scholarships
    • There was a discussion about the possibility of opening the scholarships to be used at trade schools. The students do not have to take art classes specifically to apply. Classes such as Woodworking would be accepted. Suggestions were made on how to best disseminate the information about the scholarships.
  • Tennessee Arts Commission Grant
    • We received a $700 matching grant. Due to COVID, the workshops will not be held “in person.” Instead, we will videotape each workshop at the Senior Center. Teresa Craft has volunteered to videotape each of the four workshops. A flyer was given for distribution. There will be an article in the paper explaining to the Seniors about the workshops. Packets will be available to pickup at the Hickman County Senior Center & the East Hickman Public Library. The advantage to doing workshops in this fashion is: the participants will be able to stop the video and restart it or simply back it up a step. They will be able to do this at their own speed. Videos will be accessible beginning January 4th.
  • Christmas Time’s a-Comin’ Arts and Crafts Fair
    • The event is on November 21st from 9 am-4 pm. The deadline for applications has passed. The event will be held at the Stables Event Place. We have 45 vendors with 12 on the waiting list for our May event. In addition, we have 4 food vendors: Relay 4 Life, Banana Pudding, Yankee Caterers and TC’s Fun Foods. Set-up will be on Friday, November 20th from 3:30 pm-7:00 pm and Saturday morning beginning at 7:00 am. Packets will be given to the vendors that morning.
  • Christmas Dinner
    •  The Executive Board decided to not have the Christmas Dinner this year due to COVID. Plans are being discussed to have something in the spring for the members.
